Representerer en global referanseramme for næringslivet om samfunnsansvar.
Lansert av FN i år 2000 som et globalt nettverk for bedrifter som ønsker å arbeide med samfunnsansvar og bidra til forsvarlig og bærekraftig bedriftspraksis.
Er i dag verdens største initiativ for næringslivets samfunnsansvar med over 13000 deltagere, hvorav over 9200 bedrifter fra mer enn 130 land. En stor del av deltagerne er små og mellomstore bedrifter.
I Norge er rundt 150 virksomheter tilsluttet Global Compact.
Baserer seg på ti grunnleggende prinsipper innen menneskerettigheter, arbeidslivsstandarder, miljø og anti-korrupsjon. Prinsippene er hentet fra internasjonalt vedtatte konvensjoner, og danner derfor et felles verdigrunnlag for næringslivet globalt.
Virksomheter som slutter seg til Global Compact forplikter seg til å gjøre sitt beste for å drive i tråd med disse ti prinsippene.
Global Compact har to hovedmålsettinger:

Å gjøre de ti prinsippene til en del av forretningsvirksomheten i bedrifter over hele verden.
Å fremme aktiviteter og partnerskap som bidrar til å innfri FNs mål om en bærekraftig utvikling.
